Staffed by a team of committed volunteers, Second Chances Thrift Shoppe is located at 318 Leedom Street in Jenkintown (near the corner of Leedom Street and West Avenue). We are open Monday through Saturday. All sales are final and we gladly accept cash and major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
The Thrift Shoppe carries a wide array of women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing; women’s accessories such as purses, shoes, and jewelry, and household wares. We rely on donations of new or gently used items from donors in our community. All donations must be FRESHLY LAUNDERED or thoroughly CLEANED. Donations may be dropped off at the Thrift Shoppe during normal business hours; at this time we are not able to offer pick up or delivery services.
Proceeds from the Thrift Shoppe sales support our domestic violence services, benefiting victims of family violence. The Women’s Center of Montgomery County is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, registration with the PA Bureau of Charities. The donation of items for sale accepted by the thrift shop are therefore tax deductible. A receipt for tax purposes will be provided to donors at the time of delivery.
In addition to welcoming donations from the community, the Thrift Shoppe also offers a rewarding and friendly atmosphere for volunteers. If you are interested in the opportunity to share or develop your retail job skills in a supportive environment and you appreciate the opportunity to work with other dedicated member volunteers, please contact our Elkins Park office at 215-635-7340 to request information about volunteering at the Thrift Shoppe.
